Darkness, filling curious entrails,
ceasing to engulf existence petrified;
Love, in its stead, eclipsing sadness,
to raise up, resurrect, exultant cries.
Darkness, alone but companioned,
my soul befriended this helpmate;
Love, to associate not with it,
instructed souls to that which was fate.
Darkness, sampling not majority,
appointed me caretaker to its upkeep;
Love, a new task at hand,
bid me adieu to this luminous sleep.
Darkness, it was upon my soul,
filled tortuous longings peering to kill;
Love, new undue blessings, treading where I had not,
until it transfigured, like the Christ upon the hill.
